Craft beverage producers from all over are doing some amazing things to support the LGBTQI+ communities from releasing special edition Pride cans to donating proceeds to non-profit organizations supporting the cause. Bell’s Brewery Sparkleberry - Sparkleberry is an American interpretation of a Belgian Tripel brewed with raspberries. Slightly tart, dry and spicy, it was originally brewed for release at Kalamazoo Pride in 2013, the same year it won a Bronze Medal at the Great American Beer Festival. Sparkleberry is a celebration of diversity and first debuted in cans for wider distribution in June 2018. Sparkle on.

ANXO Pride Dry Cider - This limited release cider was launched this month in celebration of National Pride Month with a portion of proceeds being donated to the local LGBTQ organization, Casa Ruby. The cider is made with 100% Northern Spy apples sourced locally. The resulting liquid is an exceptional expression of the Northern Spy apple, tart, crisp, sessionable, and remarkably apple-y.

Athletic Brewing Rainbow Wall – Made in Collaboration with Alex Johnson (pictured here), a competitive climber and prominent LGBTQI+ activist and advocate. This Non-Alcoholic Blood Orange IPA is light-bodied, single hopped, with a little zing and a lot of zest. 100% of Rainbow Wall’s proceeds are donated to Athlete Ally, a national nonprofit championing LGBTQ+ equality in sports.
Collective Arts Life in the Clouds IPA – Collective Arts has released four limited edition cans designed by queer artists from around the world. The specially commissioned cans of Life In the Clouds IPA include artwork from Ethan Barry Murley, Matthew Willie Garcia, ggggrimes and Henri Campeã. As part of this initiative, Collective Arts will be making a donation to the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity.
Goose Island Shea Coul-Alé - Shea Coul-Alé is a joint effort with renowned drag superstar, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Allstars 5, and fellow Chicagoan, Shea Couleé. This beer has everything: a custom recipe in collaboration with Shea, real orange zest, and a rainbow can that’s perfect for the next backyard BBQ. $2 of every case sold will be donated to Brave Space Alliance.
