BrewDog: Scottish Beer Empire Comes to Empire City

On March 29th, James Watt - BrewDog Captain - joined the Union Beer team to celebrate the re-introduction of his beer into the NYC market with stops at Fraunces Tavern, Arts & Crafts Beer Parlor and Cooper’s Craft & Kitchen Chelsea.

Anywhere that BrewDog goes you can count on them to make waves. James, co-founder of the Scottish craft beer company and multi-national pub chain, has been a disruptor in the beer world since starting BrewDog in 2007. We’ll even go so far as to call him a riot. While some chastise and others praise, BrewDog’s bold, even defiant, marketing has ensured that you’ve heard of them before. From 55% ABV beers to stuffed animal packaging, BrewDog knows how to get people talking. Regardless of the hype, their award-winning beers speak for themselves and now you can try them right here in NYC!

Though BrewDog has brewed over 343,253 hL of beer, their core offering consists of four solid brews. The first core product is their Punk IPA, the beer that started a revolution. This rebellious IPA packs an explosion of grapefruit, pineapple and lychee before ending in a spiky finish. Jet Black Heart is their oatmeal milk stout, which boasts a velvety texture and decadent, roasty chocolate and coffee flavors. Hazy Jane is BrewDog’s take on a Vermont-style IPA with low bitterness and loaded stone fruit and tropical juicy notes. Elvis Juice is an American-style IPA with a hefty caramel malt base to support the intense piney, grapefruit presence.
